A Party / Social Experiment: 30% of women report experiences of unwanted touching by men. Because of the power dynamics still in place in so many spaces and situations in our society, these instances often go unnoticed by others - and even less debated. MTV presents the Hands Off Ball: a secret social experiment that will entail a series of concerts and live acts. Upon entering, men will be asked to have their hands coated with invisible UV paint - and at the end of each party, women will be asked to stand under UV lights and reveal the "marks" of this frequent physical contact - much of which will have been unwanted. By doing this, MTV wants both men and women to be aware of the importance of physical consent and learn to always respect it - in music venues and everywhere else.
